Ich arbeit in Forswirtschaft. I notice in the lesson notes that ahorn is translated to mean acorn. I was under impression that Ahorn is a Maple as in

sceintifci name "Acer" I thought eichorn was an acorn. as in nut of the Oak.

Am I mistaken? Thanks

P.S> I lke the lessons and audioblogs, but think that Judith and Sara do well but that Chuck tries too hard to be funny, instaed of helpign with the lesson.

I just got iPad and downloaded German dictionary app.

I carry iPad to school and study German by reading, listening to podcasts, and looking up words during my break time. On a way to school and back home, I listen to lessons downloaded in my iPod as I walk around.

I always have German lessons in my hand!

I have been listening to German Pod 101 for a little over one year. I listen to it while I am at work, sometimes when I'm at home, and when I'm driving. When I'm at home, I look at the lesson notes to see the dialogue and skip to specific lines to learn some vocabulary. It really helps to hear the conversation and then read the words to see how they are spelled and pronounced, which helps considerably with my memorization. In addition to the podcast, I also use a study book and a German dictionary I bought from the store. My girlfriend is 100% German, which fuels my fire in learning German. I started using the Podcast when we started dating and learning German has become an obsession of mine. This podcast has helped me considerably with phrases, vocabulary, grammar, and other cultural facts about Germany. When I went to Germany about 4 months ago, a lot of the cultural facts were extremely helpful. I was able to communicate to my girlfriend's family with basic conversation, but nothing too fancy. This podcast really does help!

I send the audio to the big speakers in my jewelery studio where I work everyday and listen to the dialogue all day while I work. I now know German pretty well for only six months of learning and studying. It feels like I did'nt even have to try very hard at all. Rick Montano

I listen on my iphone on my walk to and from the metro, as well as during the ride. I'm able to get in a lesson or 2 that way. The dialogue really helps as I learned on a recent trip to Germany. I was frequently complimented on my German and the lessons made me feel a lot more comfortable in day to day situations. Thanks.

I am a cab driver in Las Vegas, NV. I study German with my iPhone in the car. I frequently encounter German tourists. They appreciate my speaking German to them,as rough as my German is.Germanpod 101 allows me to keep the German language fresh in my mind and improve my German. I really appreciate it. Danke Viel
