What motivates me to learn three foreign languages with proficiency? My grandparents spoke more than one language. My Dad grew up bilingual from birth. I always had an envy that they could speak something other than English but my parents told me that the teachers in the United States school system (back in the 40’s) did not believe it would be wise for them to teach me anything but English. My grandparents and parents are gone now but I still have that desire. From time to time I think about what other language I would like to add to the list sometime in the near future.
