Thanks for a very good question.

Fleisch has two meanings really when translated to English,

"processed meat" or just simply "meat" in the sense of being

prepared for later consumption, both cooked and uncooked.

And "flesh" in the sense of the flesh on your bones.

The translation in the lesson is the by far more commonly used one.
