Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Albert: To ask politely for the bill in German, you just say Ich möchte bitte zahlen which is "I would like to pay". An even shorter way would be Zahlen, bitte! which can sometimes sound a bit rude. Both expressions are commonly used and it can happen that on some occasions you will be asked to check the change with Stimmt das Wechselgeld? which is "Is the change ok?" or Bitte zählen Sie nochmal nach which is "Please check again".

Outro

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!

Hello Christine,

It is perfectly fine to say "Die Rechnung bitte!" or

"Kann ich bitte bezahlen?"

I like your improvised ü, by the way.

We had a question from another user the other day

about special letters in German and one of my colleagues

found this website:

https://german.typeit.org/

Maybe it helps?😉

Thank you.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Entschuldigung, mein Wechselgeld stimmt nicht. Konnen Sie das u:berpru:fen, bitte?

Kann ich sagen, "die Rechnung, bitte"? Oder ist das unho:flich?

Hello Nashy, hello Тарык,

I am so sorry!😞

There is a mistake in my messages to you.

It should be "Entschuldigung..." with a "t".

My apologies!

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Kind regards,

Reinhard

Slightly better would be:

Thank you.
