Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Albert: There are many different ways to order at a restaurant or coffee shop, but one of the most commonly used phrases would be Ich möchte gerne einen Kaffee which literally means "I would like to have a coffee". The word Kaffee is of course replaceable. Also, you can add items by using und to mean "and" like in Ich möchte gerne einen Kaffee und ein Stück Apfelkuchen which means "I would like to have a coffee and a piece of apple pie".

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
