Hi Jude,

Haha, Bavarian German can be such a pain! I myself do not understand it at all!
But I managed to figure the sentence “Der Bua passt nur in d’ Lederhosen nei” out:
“Der Junge passt nur in die Lederhosen hinein.”
Bua is Junge, but from the old term “Bub” which is not used anywhere in Germany any longer, but Bavarians can be a bit special…

Dies ist die perfekte Gelegenheit, um zu fragen, - schließlich - was auch ” Der Bua passt nur in d’ Lederhosen nei” bedeutet? Bua ist Bauer, Lederhosen ist Lederhosen, aber dies ‘nei’ ist mysteriös.
