As you look over the menu, you ask your friend for some recommendations. Your friend replies in German, “Usually I recommend the beef roulade or a pork escalope to my foreign friends.” “The pork escalope it is,” you hungrily repeat in German. “Now where’s our waiter…?” Your friend looks around. When he doesn’t see the waiter, he tells you to close your menu to let the waiter know you are ready to order. You do as he says, but moments later your stomach is rumbling so loud customers everywhere are turning to look. As if he heard the rumbling, he appears at the table - pen in hand.
