Das Brandenburger Tor ist ein weiteres Wahrzeichen von Berlin. Man sieht es oft in Dokumentationen über Berlin oder die Wiedervereinigung. Auch sieht man es oft im Fernsehen als Hintergrundmotiv für politische Nachrichten. Diese Verbindung ergibt sich, da sich der Regierungssitz in Berlin befindet.

The Brandenburg Gate is another symbol of Berlin. It can often be seen in documentaries about Berlin or about the German reunification.  It also often appears on TV, as a background during political news. This is because the seat of government is located in Berlin.

Die Berliner Mauer ist eines der Wahrzeichen der Stadt. Lange Zeit hat sie den Ost- und den Westteil der Stadt getrennt. Für viele ist sie ein Wahrzeichen des Kalten Krieges, doch für die Berliner ist sie ein Teil gelebter Geschichte, deren Rest sich heute noch an manchen Stellen finden lassen.

The Berlin wall is one of the emblems of the city. For a long time it separated the east and the west part of the city. To many it is a symbol of the Cold War, but to the people living in Berlin it is a part of their history, of which remains can still be found today.

Lesebühnen haben in Berlin eine lange Tradition und sind auch heute noch Publikumsmagneten. Man findet mehrere von ihnen in der Stadt und einige der Künstler sind auch außerhalb der Lesebühnen bekannt.

“Lesebühnen” have a long tradition in Berlin and are still crowd puller today. One can find several of them within the city and some artists are well known outside of the “Lesebühnen”, too.
