Learn German with GermanPod101.com! You are in the German airport, ready to go home after an awesome vacation in Germany. You make your way to the German security gate and are surprised that although you do not have to take off your shoes, you do still have to throw away your drink. After making it through the German security in one piece, you have to rush to your gate. You make it there after a few obstacles and when you reach your gate, you are dying of thirst! You ask an attendant in German, “Excuse me. Do you have a water fountain nearby?” The attendant is happy to help you and replies in German, “No sir, we do not have a water fountain, but we do have a food court right down there,” pointing down a hall. “Great,” you mutter in English. After rushing to get to your gate, you definitely don’t want to leave. The German attendant must have heard the comment and replies to you in English, “We also have vending machines right over there.” Slightly embarrassed, you reply “Thank you” in German and rush off to get a drink. Although you don’t want to leave, you would rather be anywhere in the world than in this German airport.

Sounds like a mother talking to a child, who took something from someone.
@Chuck
why don’t you just go from bathroom to bathroom and drink from the Wasserhahn

I don’t go from sink to sink because often the water is automatically warm and then it really sucks to drink it.
I believe I even did that once in London though.

I never paid attention to that.. but I guess you’re right. warm water is not really nice to drink.
