Learn German with GermanPod101.com! You have just come back from vacationing in Germany and you are ready to go back already! Your mother is ready for you to do back too with all that laundry you brought to her house when you arrived home. She asks you, “Did you not do ANY laundry while you were on vacation? Do they not have washers and dryers in Germany?” Just to be amusing, and knowing that your mother doesn’t believe in hang-drying clothes, you reply in German, “Mom, where I was staying they had no dryers, and I saw plenty of people that hanged their clothes on a line; I could’ve done that too. On top of that, they don’t believe in Laundromats.” Your mother doesn’t understand one word that you have just said. She approaches you and sternly says, “Do you think speaking that German will get you out of trouble? I hope when you were in Germany, you weren’t airing your dirty laundry.” Didn’t you just say that you didn’t do that? Oh yeah, she didn’t quite catch that, did she?
