Learn German with GermanPod101.com! You are at your new job in Germany and finally lunchtime has come. You are ready for a break from learning all of the new skills that you will need each day to do your job well. As you sit down to enjoy your lunch, three other co-workers join you at your table. At first, you are intimidated because you are still quite new at speaking German, but after a few moments, you realize that you are glad for the company. One co-worker replies in German, “So I see you have survived the first part of the day with our boss.” You smile and reply back in German, “Yes, but I’m glad lunch has finally arrived to save me from the next task.” As the conversation continues, a pretty lady walks across the room catches your eye. One of the co-workers that joined you replies in German, “I see that the boss’s daughter has caught your attention. Keep dreaming - dating her is seriously frowned upon by our boss.” You blush slightly and continue eating. As lunch ends and you start the long walk back to the office, you run into the young lady whom is the boss’s daughter. You begin to speak to her in German, but it is short-lived because you arrive at the office a short time later. As get back to work, one of the co-workers from lunch approaches your desk and replies in German, “I see you risked making the boss mad by speaking to his daughter.” You do not see the harm in speaking to the German boss’s daughter; after all, you can’t stand to see a wasted opportunity! Maybe working for this German company will not be so bad.

verpacken = to package, wrap

Interessant.
