I would buy a ticket ALWAYS in advanced. Once I had a porter who told me I have to get one before I enter the train and he just sold me one because he took pity in me.I would have been even later at my brother’s birthday party if I had missed that train just because I had to get to a ticket counter and get a ticket (it takes ages to get what you want from those DB people
)
thank god I now have my NRW ticket and with it I can everywhere in NRW with buses and trains (not the IC or ICE though)
