I’ve never heard it before but I really liked it. Very moving, melodic and inspirational. Way better than my countrie’s national anthem “O Canada” (Yawn!) Too bad they dropped the first two verses though. I heard they mistakenly sang the first verse at a recent soccer game over there. Personally, I’d like to see Germany take back its heritage and reinstate this song the way its forefathers meant it to be sung. The idea of it being to militaristic or associated with the third reich is really silly. The anthem was around long before the third reich and if you think its too militaristic then ask Chuck about his countrie’s national anthem. Tchuss!
