Have you heard of Essen? No? That’s not too surprising. Essen is a major German city, but not known for attracting tourists. However, it has been awarded the title of European Capital of Culture 2010, as a representative of the entire Ruhr metropolitan area. Learn what most tourists are missing out on! Besides, you just gotta love a city whose name is the same as the German word for “food”.

Ich war noch nicht in Essen, allerdings gehe ich heute auf ein Konzert in Ferropolis. ^^
Ferropolis wird auch “Die Stadt aus Eisen” genannt, da es sich um einen ehemaligen Braunkohletagebau handelt, auf dem noch immer mehrere riesige Bagger stehen.
Ich bin mal gespannt ob es so beeindruckend ist wie auf ihrer Homepage:

weil ich heute Abend da offen gestanden zum ersten Mal hingehe. Und warum?

Ferropolis sieht auf der Homepage sehr schön und interessant aus ! Ich denke auch, daß neue Städte auf ehemaligen Industriebauplätzen bauen eine sehr gute Idee ist. Auf diese Weise können solche Plätze ein neues Leben anfangen, und sie werden für die Leute und die Umwelt freundlicher.

Ich bin mit GermanPod101.com so glücklich. Es ist eine wirklich wundervolle Weise, Deutsches zu erlernen. Jeden Tag verstehe ich immer mehr. Ich mag zu den vorgerückten AudioBlogen hören, während sie mein Ohr abgestimmt zur Sprache erhalten. Mach weiter so und danke soviel für das Machen dieses zugänglich für uns.
