Thanks for joining us, and looking forward to learning more about German and Germany together!
Hello Judith and Chuck! Great Newscast! My favorite parts were Judith’s “Yummy feedback.” and Chuck’s “Rammestein”! Can’t wait for the lessons to start.
Haha, Rammstein - great that you threw that in there - that band taught me 90% of the German I know today.
Great job, looking forward to the lessons!
Congratulations!!! Great news podcast… can’t wait for some lessons… Maybe I’ll finally understand what Marvin is talking about
Congratulations Judith and Chuck!!! Let’s rock it out like David Hasseloff!!

Oh my… Hyunwoo…
Can you keep up with all of these languages….and find time to teach us Korean!? You must be able to multiply time!
With all of the languages being offered, is there going to be some sort of package deal where users could pay one fee to get access to all the sites?

This is a common request and a top priority for our development team. We hope to have a universal pass, which will give access to all of our sites at a discounted rate, rolled out in late Q2 / early Q3 of 2008.
In the meantime, if anyone is interested in subscribing to ALL of our languages, please email our support department and we’ll provide you with a special discount code you can use.
Hey, I’m so happy there is finally GermanPod101.com!!!!!!
Deutsch macht mir viel Spraß!!!
Auf Wiedersehen!!!
Austin, I’ve always thought German is a fascinating language
This is a great opportunity for me to learn it finally !!
Jao Paulo, good to see you here! Long time no see!
Hyunwoo Sun,
That’s really been a while!!! Nice to see you here, too.
By the way, how’s your Spanish studies coming along???
Now it’s time to brush up on German, right? It’s definetely a fascinating language!!! Ich liebe Deutsch!!!!
Yeah. It’s been a while! Mi espanol, no me parece que se mejora tan rapido como quiero, pero estoy escuchando SpanishPod101.com todos los dias. Y a ti, espanol es muy facil, no? Jaja. Pero aprendes aleman tambien? Es maravilloso!
I don’t know any German yet, but I will certainly enjoy this podcast!!
Bueno, español es casi un portugués, así que no me resulta tan difícil!
Well, Spanish is almost a Portuguese, so it’s not so difficult for me!
Wait until you see the formation of those loooooooooong words in German. That’s really cool. Verb conjugation is extremely easy, nothing compared to all those tenses in Neolatin languages!!!

I am so happy that Germanpod101.com is launching and that there already is an audience waiting for the first Newbie lesson. Finally all the planning is bearing fruit. I’m looking forward to your feedback on the first lesson!
Tag! Ich HeiBe Max und ich komme aus Australia.
I learnt German in Gymnasium, but have forgotten all of it, I’m really looking forward to GermanPod101.com . I’ve been to die Schwarzvalde, Cologne, MVnchen, Salzburg, die Schweiz… I’m hoping to get my German level higher so that the next time I visit a German speaking place I’ll be able to get around better.
Bis Spader!
Ach, prima! Diese Podcast ist super. Ich lerne Deutsch in der Schule also diese Podcast werdet super sein weil ich mehr Deutsch lernen kann.
OK, war das richtig? Please correct me! Oh when will the Intermediate lessons start being released? I know that will help me a lot. Danke schoen und viel Glueck!
Congratulations!!
I learned a little bit of German from Die Toten Hosen and KMFDM when I was in high school!! Keine Mitleit fuer die Mehrheit!
Oh and I also remember a few choice lines from the movie Top Secret!
Notably, “Ist deine Tochter 16?”
My family comes from a small town in North-Rhein Westphalia called Coesfeld. The name means Cow’s Field in Platdeutsch or something… Anyways, it was a nice town to visit. I hope I can go back to Germany soon!!!
Matt, your text was almost correct. Here is the final version:
“Ach, prima! Dieser Podcast ist super. Ich lerne Deutsch in der Schule also wird dieser Podcast super sein weil ich mehr Deutsch lernen kann.”
Basically, you just didn’t know that “Podcast” is masculine (at least it feels that way to me, sometimes there are disagreements among Germans about which gender an anglicism should have) and “werdet” should be “wird” and as a verb it has to take the 2nd place in the clause; “also” counts as the first.
I am not sure when the intermediate series will start, because I recently moved to Berlin and now we have to settle in and find a new recording studio there. Also, I want the intermediate series to start more or less where the beginner series leaves off, so that you can logically progress from zero knowledge to fluent speaker of German. For now, you can enjoy the first beginner lesson, which will be released tomorrow (the 17th).
Wow! What a nice place!!
Ich habe Deutsch Institute gesucht, und hier is sehr gut!
Ich habe Deutsch gelernt in dem Gymnasium, und jetzt habe zu viel vergessen.
Hier, glaube ich, kann ich mein Deutsch verbessern.
Bis nachstes~!
hi and thank you to the both of you!
i wish we could see your faces too! (video lessons pls)
btw, Judith really sounds cute especially with her sweet German accent!
have fun!
I heard that the Intermediate lessons to come will be based on learning the lyrics of German songs. Therefore I have two songs for consideration; I always heard these songs at outdoor festivals being played on some floats and beer tents. Everyone would sing along when ever one of the floats playing these songs passed by and I always wonder what the lyrics were.
Artist:
Lollies
Song:
Wahnsinn (…Hölle, Hölle, Hölle)
Artist:
Höhner
Song:
Viva Colonia (Da Simmer Dabei, Dat Is Prima!)
Adam
P.S. Love the lessons keep up the great work guys.
Hallo zusammen! Wie geht’s? Ich heisse Aria und ich wohne in der Schweiz.
Ich habe Deutsch in der Schule gelernt aber am Arbeit habe ich bemerkt, dass ich seit denn so viel vergessen habe
Did that make any sense?
Anyway, I have been looking for a way to get back to the level I used to have. I was pretty fluent when I finished high school, but now I really struggle to make things come out right. It’s difficult to find the right material to study when you have already covered all the basics, but based on the experience I’ve had at Japanesepod101.com, I’m pretty sure I’ll find here exactly what I need. I’m really looking forward to this!
i personally think the two speakers need to be more energetic
falling asleep while listening ….
